Sift appoints new chairman

by Ben Heald

I'm delighted to announce that we've appointed Alan Howarth as the new Sift chairman. After seeing us through our various adventures over the last six years Bill Passmore is retiring. He’s been a wonderful mentor to me as I’ve learned how to be a CEO, and is as sharp as ever when we debate business at the board. I proudly presented Bill with some silver Sift cufflinks at the recent Sift Q1 company event; he can now relax in the knowledge that he’s never again going to have to stand on a chair and make an impromptu speech at Sift parties!

Having spend the bulk of his career running the informations systems practice of Ernst & Young (which got sold to Cap Gemini in 2000), Alan has a bulging portfolio of non-exec appointments. He’s got great IT and software development experience, excellent AIM credentials and is a keen golfer! I’m looking forward to his input as we take the business forward over the next few years.
