It’s important to have fun together regularly. It’s also vital to reward ‘other-halves’ and kids for supporting the Sift workers. So yesterday afternoon 120 of us headed off into the North Somerset countryside for the Sift summer sports day and party. We started on the track with everyone split into business divisions houses.
Three-legged race winners: Chris Wood & James Comley – Sift central services
Egg & Spoon winner: Matt Harris – Sift Media
Sack Race winner: Simon Burgess – Sift Media
50m 5 man relay winners: Sift central services (Dan Slinky, Rob Nance, James Comley, Chris Wood & Ben Heald)

Then it was to the pool for the 50m freestyle swimming relay, won by Sift Media with a surging anchor leg from Rob Lamplugh supported by Kate Hanaghan, Joe Vallender & Charlie Duff.

The kids then all jumped in the pool, we uncaged the booze and the party started. After the BBQ, the overall house winner unsurprisingly was Sift Media, with team captain Andy North gratefully accepting the cup.
The only semi-formal bit of the evening was the announcement of the quarterly Sift cup winners. AccountingWEB.com won the silver cup for the best financial performance. AccountingWEB.com publisher over for the week said “I’m delighted to be taking the cup back to the US for the 3rd time where it’ll get passed round the team. I’m afraid it’s bound to come back with a few more dents.”
Then the gold cup for achievement went to Sift Media’s campaign delivery team, accepted by Campaign Manager Rob Lamplugh.

We stayed outside all evening dancing to The Reach Arounds (drummer – Gareth Beck – one of Sift’s search engine specialists). The bats flew overhead. Then it was the happy bus at midnight back into the centre of Bristol for the die-hards.

Many thanks to Alastair Currie Event Solutions for putting on yet another great Sift party.
